Perhaps if there was a better recording of this show it may move up in my rotation, but until then it's not on my best of list, and I'm not sure it's better than the similar show on 8-27-81. I'm still convinced that 3-9-81 is the best show of the 80's.

for me, 05-06-1981 is the best show of 81, then you have 03-09-1981, 05-16-1981 and the OOPS show of 10-16-1981 to consider...09-12-1981 always sounded too brittle for me...

Why 5-6? If you take away the caution jam, the 2nd set is really kind of boring. With the caution jam, it elevates it to good, but not great imo. I'd rather listen to 5-15-81 or 5-16-81. The fall European tour has many fine shows as well.

yeah but 5/6 has an INCREDIBLE Let it Grow, although I do kind of agree that the 2nd set is a bit lacking, other than the monster jam. 9/12/81 is just the perfect show, imo, great versions of favorite songs, and perfect, spacey Bird Songs, Shakedown....probobly my favorite first set ever. And those whale calls after Eyes....used to freak out Colin Powell
